Action Required : Transition to the New TRAIN Learning Platform
Effective December 10, 2025, The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) will transition the current Services Facilitation (SF) provider training to a different e-learning platform. SF Training content will be moved to the TRAIN Learning Network, located at the following link: https://www.train.org/. Throughout this transition, DMAS will send ongoing email communications to providers regarding account creation and module availability.
Please Note:
- Deadline: The new system is mandatory for all training after December 9, 2025.
- History Transfer: Providers are encouraged to complete any existing trainings prior to December 9, 2025. All future training activities will be monitored by DMAS and managed via the TRAIN Learning Platform.
- Best Practice: Before the old system closes on December 10, 2025, please ensure you have downloaded and saved all existing module completion certificates. It is best practice to retain these in your personal provider records.
For additional questions or concerns regarding this transition, please email us at cdsf@dmas.virginia.gov. We appreciate your prompt action to create your account.
The Department of Medical Assistance Services has refined and standardized the training of Services Facilitators and has made it a requirement in order to provide Services Facilitation. All Services Facilitators, and staff employed by Services Facilitators to function as a Services Facilitator, must complete this DMAS-approved Consumer-Directed Services Facilitator training.
No, however, if you do not complete them in order, you will miss important information that helps in understanding the module material. We strongly recommend that you begin with Module 1 and complete the modules in order. Completing Module 1 learning assessment is important in that learning assessment certificates of completion will not be released until the first learning assessment has been successfully completed.
You register by clicking on the Registration and Learning Assessment link in Module 1.
You can complete the modules without registering, however, in order to complete the learning assessment, you have to register.
If you have not previously registered, click on “First Time Users—New Registration.” The next screen will then ask you to enter information about yourself. This is where you also create a user name and a password (which you can use each time you complete a learning assessment). If you are returning to the site after registering, simply enter your user name and password, and then click “Login.”
You can access all posted resources and modules at any time without a login. However, only your "username" and "password" will provide you access to the required learning assessments-quizzes; enable the system to track your progress; and provide you with certifications.
After you complete each module and part (Modules 2, 3, and 4 have a Part A and a Part B), you must take and pass the learning assessment for each module and part; thus you will have seven certificates. You will be able to save your certificate as a pdf file and print it out.
To pause the module, click on the double parallel bars. When you are ready to proceed, click on the forward (arrow) button.
You have five chances to receive a passing score for each learning assessment. If you do NOT pass the assessment after five tries, you will get the following message: Sorry! You have already attempted this post-quiz 5 times. You will need to email ppdtechhelp@vcu.edu to be able to try again.
